1. Acceptance of the terms
By creating an account or using Contes de Lune (“the Service”, available at contesdelune.com), you accept these terms of use. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of the service
Contes de Lune creates one big personalized adventure for your child (first name, the look of their character, their interests, imaginary friends) and sends it by mail: with the “Le Courrier de Lune” subscription, an illustrated postcard addressed to your child by first name is printed every week and handed to Canada Post. The stories and illustrations are created with artificial intelligence, from the choices you make; no photo of your child is asked for. The Service is offered in Canada, to Canadian mailing addresses only.
3. Accounts and sign-up
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your province) to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for any activity on your account.
4. Subscription, price and billing
Le Courrier de Lune is a monthly subscription with no commitment: one card a week for one child (4 or 5 a month, depending on the month), delivery in Canada included. Your account, your child's character and their first chapter, to read on screen, are free; payment is only asked for when you subscribe. The launch price is $14.99 a month. As announced at launch, the first 100 subscribing families keep this price as long as their subscription stays active. Each extra child gets their own cards for $11.99 a month. Prices are in Canadian dollars; no shipping fees are added; applicable taxes are added where required.
The subscription is billed automatically every month until it is cancelled. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never store your credit card information.
5. Preview, approval and printing of the cards
Each card is prepared a few days before it prints. You get an email and can, in your dashboard, read it and ask for a new version (a limited number of times per card), until the day before it prints. A card you take no action on is printed as is on the morning of its print day: Monday, or, for a child's first card, the business day after a review period of at least 24 hours. Once approved or sent to print, a card can no longer be changed or cancelled.
Upcoming cards are visible in your library, which is for the parent only; for your child, the surprise stays in the mailbox.
6. Mail delivery
The cards are printed in Canada and delivered by Canada Post to the address you provide. Usually allow about 10 days between printing and delivery, sometimes more, especially in December; these times depend on Canada Post and no delivery day is guaranteed. You are responsible for the accuracy of the address: no card can be printed until a complete Canadian mailing address is saved, and a card sent to a wrong address you provided is not reprinted at our expense.
If a card has not arrived three weeks after it was printed, write to us: we will reprint it and send it again at no charge.
7. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period: cards scheduled until then are sent as usual, and a card written after you cancel wraps up your child's adventure (a card already written when you cancel is not rewritten). Cards already printed are delivered. Unless the law provides otherwise, amounts already billed are not refundable.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service for illegal purposes, not to try to disrupt it, and not to generate hateful, violent, sexual or otherwise inappropriate content, especially given that the Service is made for children.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, its brand and its original content remain the property of Contes de Lune. The stories and cards created for you are yours: keep them, read them again, collect them, for your family's personal, non-commercial use.
10. Content generated by artificial intelligence
The stories are produced automatically by artificial intelligence models and may contain inaccuracies. That is why each card is shown to you before it prints: you can read it and ask for a new version (up to 3 times per card). Contes de Lune does not guarantee that the content is free of errors.
11. Limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, Contes de Lune disclaims all liability for indirect damages arising from the use of the Service.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if these terms are breached. You can close your account at any time by contacting us.
13. Changes
We may change these terms from time to time. Important changes will be communicated to you. Continued use of the Service means you accept the revised terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the province of Quebec and the applicable laws of Canada. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Quebec.
